Being a Teenager is Stressful
And being a parent to a teenager can feel impossible. Academic, social, physical, and emotional changes may have turned your child into someone you barely recognize. Mindfulness has been shown to decrease anxiety and depression while increasing feelings of self-esteem in teens.
Learning mindfulness skills can make the teen years go more smoothly and gives your child a foundational skill that will serve them their entire life.
Calm and Connected
Our mindfulness group will support your teen with managing the intense emotions of adolescence. This group focuses on:
- Learning the basics of mindfulness: We'll go over easy ways to practice mindfulness that your teen can even do in the middle of a school day without anyone noticing.
- Practicing mindfulness: Your teen will have time to practice mindfulness in a supportive and fun setting to make sure they understand when and how to use their mindfulness skills.
- Processing day to day stressors: Your teen will have the chance to bring up any struggles they are going through where they will receive support from our skilled therapists. With space to process, your teen will also learn how to use mindfulness in the moment to manage those stressors.
What: This 60 minute group will run weekly for 6 weeks and focus on mindfulness
Who: Teenagers 8th grade and up
When: TBD but the group will start in the beginning of September
Where: In person at the Firefly Wellness Counseling's NEW office location at 610 Kentucky Street, Scottdale, GA 30079
Cost: $300 for all six weeks ($50/week)
Space is limited! There is a maximum of 6 participants per group in order to provide high quality support.
