Play Therapy Social Skills Group for Boys and Girls Ages 8-11
Does your child find social situations confusing and awkward? Do they struggle with navigating expected social norms? In this 10-week program, Wendy Fritz, LPC, will utilize play to teach social skills and help improve your child’s interactions with their peers.
We all grow up in a society where certain social skills are necessary, but, whether due to neurodivergence, trauma, or a variety of other reasons, some kids don’t pick up on these norms as easily as their peers. Whatever the reason for their struggle, kids in our Play Therapy Social Skills group will be learn to navigate these social norms while having their uniqueness valued and respected.
In this group, kids will learn skills such as:
- Working in groups
- Personal space/boundaries awareness
- Compromising
- Processing emotions
- Listening/following instructions
- And more!
We will focus on the three target areas of Emotional Regulation, Social Functioning, and Connection, with a secondary focus on Sensory Processing, Anxiety Reduction, and Behavioral Change.
At the end of the 10-week group, your child will feel more confident in their ability to create positive connections with those around them!
