Helping your middle schooler conquer academic and social challenges, develop positive habits, and pave their way to a successful future.
Middle School is TOUGH
Middle school marks a significant transition from elementary school to prepare for high school. It is a critical period where students experience physical, cognitive, social, and emotional changes. Successful navigation through these transitions sets the foundation for future academic achievement.
Imagine if your child had both support for the academic and social challenges they will face in middle school.
Confident, Relaxed, and Ready for Success
Our popular Academic Achievement and Wellness group will support your child with navigating the complexities of middle school. We've found great success in being able to address not just emotional needs in our teen groups but also academic skill building. This group focuses on:
- Emotional struggles that get in the way of completing school work: We'll address depression, anxiety, and self-esteem so that your child has tools to manage the ups and downs of being a middle schooler. With these skills, your child will be better able to manage their academic requirements.
- Social struggles that make middle school tough: Middle school is a critical period for developing social skills and forming relationships. Positive peer interactions, teamwork, conflict resolution, and communication skills are essential for academic success. We will focus on ways to build healthy relationships which will contribute to a supportive learning environment.
- Academic skills needed as coursework gets more difficult: Your middle schooler is becoming more independent which sometimes means they are less likely to ask for help. This group will teach study skills, time management, and ways to communicate with teachers so they can stay on top of their work.
